Are you a law student who will be in Washington, DC this summer? Are you interested in reproductive justice issues? Join the National Women’s Law Center and Law Students for Reproductive Justice for a day-long training.

WHAT: Reproductive Law & Policy 101: A Training for Law Students; Co-sponsored by the National Women’s Law Center and Law Students for Reproductive Justice.

WHEN: Friday, June 3, 2011; 9 am to 5 pm

WHERE: Hogan Lovells; 555 13th St NW

The training is FREE and breakfast and lunch will be provided.  Law students interested in attending must register by Friday, May 27. Space is limited, and last year the event reached capacity, so register early.

University of Miami School of Law Seeks Student Service Fellow

The Fellows Program challenges each Fellow to evaluate, research, design and implement new programs, systems and services to better the law student experience at Miami Law. Fellows are expected to think outside the box and propose innovative and creative suggestions to enhance the student experience.

Student Support: Will always be responsible for connecting students in need w/the Dean of Students or other law school resources, (Financial Aid, Law Registrar, Disability Services among others) and University Resources (Health Center, Parking, Student Accounts among others) to ensure that services are provided.

Student Programming: Will be responsible for coordination and/or providing support for large law school events and programs which may include Orientation, meetings for social events organized by the Dean or the Dean of Students to promote community life at the UM School of Law, 1L social events, Wellness Week, Mental Health Day, U Networking lunches and breakfasts and Mindfulness and the Law Programming.

Technology: Maintain current student webpage with new articles, upcoming events, and other relevant information. Develop additional content for Website including FAQ’s on topics of concern to the Student Body. Special Projects, Professionalism/Networking.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree required and JD degree prfd., significant experience w/the University of Miami Coral Gables campus and the School of Law prfd. Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Salary: $24,049.33-$48,585.00

Virginia Bar Association Diversity Job Fair

The Virginia Bar Association (“VBA”) Annual Diversity Job Fair is open to rising 2L and 3L law students of diverse backgrounds (including race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability or age) who are interested in practicing in Virginia. National Black Prosecutors Association Annual Job Fair

The National Black Prosecutors Association Annual Job Fair will be held on Tuesday, July 26 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  The early registration fee for the Job Fair and Job Fair Reception is $25.00 for law students and members of the class of 2011, and $50.00 for laterals. After May 20th, the regular registration fee is $50.00 for law students and members of the class of 2011, and $75.00 for laterals.  Registration is also available online with a credit card here. Registration is now open, deadline is July 12th.  

Heartland Legal Diversity Job Fair

The Heartland Diversity Job Fair takes place August 5-6 and is open to rising 2Ls, 3Ls and class of 2011 graduates. The  Fair is designed to expose students to both traditional and non-traditional employers.  For more information visit here. Registration deadline is May 20, 2011.

Lavender Law Career Fair

The Boston Lawyers Group Boston & Washington Job Fairs for Law Students of Color

The Boston Job fair will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2011, at the InterContinental Hotel, 510 Atlantic Avenue, Boston, MA. The Washington, D.C. Job Fair will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2011, at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel, 1127 Connecticut Avenue NW, Washington, D.C. The Indianapolis Diversity Job Fair

Full-time 2L law students representing all aspects of diversity are invited to participate in the Indy Bar Diversity Job Fair.  In addition to the opportunity to interview with more than 20 firm, government and corporate legal employers, three (3) student attendees will each be presented with a $2500 scholarship. This job fair is Thursday and Friday, August 18-19, 2011 and registration includes student reception on the first night of the job fair.  For more information, including registration information, and a list of participating employers from the 2010 job fair please see the flyer located on the Symplicity Document Library/Student Portal. The deadline to register to participate is July 18, 2011.

Georgia State University College of Law is hosting the 7th Annual Southeastern Intellectual Property Job Fair (SIPJF)

Georgia State University College of Law is hosting the 7th Annual Southeastern Intellectual Property Job Fair (SIPJF) on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, in Atlanta, Georgia. This is an excellent opportunity if you are interested in intellectual property law.  Students will be able to interview for positions in various areas of IP, including patent, trademark, trade secrets, and copyright law.

The Florida Bar’s Business Law Section and the Dade County Bar Association’s Business Law Committee present “Demystifying the Securities Laws: A Practitioners Approach to Getting the Deal Done,” Part 6-A. Eligibility:          Students enrolled in any accredited law school in the United States, with expected graduation date in 2012 or later. Unpublished papers, papers published in any law journal or other publication during calendar year 2011, and papers scheduled for publication in 2011 or 2012 are eligible for submission. Co-authored papers are not eligible.

Deadline:          November 18, 2011

All submissions must include author’s name and contact information, including email address, postal address, law school, and year of anticipated graduation. The Deadline for The Florida Supreme Court Internship Program for Distinguished Florida Law Students Has Been Extended

The deadline to submit applications for the Fall 2011 Florida Supreme Court Internship Program for Distinguished Florida Law Students has been extended until Monday, May 23rd at 5:00 pm.  Applications are available in the Career Development Office, Room A112.
