NAACP Legal Fellowship Sponsor for Fall 2012
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Legal Department is accepting applicants to sponsor for the 2012 Skadden Fellowship. A Fellow would work on a project focused on housing and economic justice litigation and advocacy.
Founded in 1909, the NAACP is the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization. The NAACP Legal Department is responsible for the Association’s civil rights advocacy and internal/corporate matters. The Department’s work includes advocacy on issues of economic justice, education, environmental justice, housing, public accommodations, and voting.
Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to racial and economic justice. Applicants with a history of public interest advocacy and an interest in a variety of advocacy strategies to combat racial and economic injustices are preferred. The Legal Department is seeking a third year law student or recent graduate who will complete a judicial clerkship prior to the fall of 2012. A Fellow would work in the NAACP Legal Department at the national office inBaltimore, Maryland.
