The Justice Defenders Program identifies experienced attorneys to provide pro bono assistance to human rights defenders who are the subject of retaliation for their advocacy efforts.
Volunteer legal experts can become involved in a variety of ways, including by providing legal assistance to local counsel or observing a trial. There are projects for attorneys willing to travel to provide assistance and for those who are not able to travel.

Prudential, in partnership with the National LGBT Bar Association, are pleased to provide a meaningful summer internship opportunity to a highly motivated 1L students. Through this program, the National LGBT Bar Association will select one student to join the 2012 Prudential 10 week internship program. A $10,000 stipend will be awarded. Position will most likely be in either New Jersey or Dallas, Texas. Applicants must be a member of the National LGBT Bar Association, finance or business background a plus.

Lauren Burke is the co-founder of Atlas: DIY, developing immigrant youth, and the immigration attorney at the New York Asian Women’s Center. Lauren is a former Skadden Fellow at The Door, where she worked with Chinese child survivors of human trafficking. Since graduating from NYU Law in 2009, she has worked with over thirty law students in a direct and clinical capacity and loves sharing the advice she learned from tripping (literally!) in dozens of legal interviews.

Public Justice is a national public interest law firm dedicated to pursuing justice for the victims of corporate and government abuses. They are seeking a law school graduate to serve as a Fellow for two years in either its Washington, D.C. headquarters or its Oakland, California office.
The Fellow will help develop and litigate Public Justice’s cases. While the position is now open, they will consider candidates who cannot start until later this year. Please note in your cover letter when you would be available to start. Preference given to individuals with demonstrated commitment to the public interest and at least two years of litigation experience.
