Tallahassee Barristers Association Scholarship Contest

The Tallahassee Barristers Association (Barristers) is a voluntary legal organization that focuses on empowering and supporting minority lawyers in the greater Tallahassee area. The Barristers established the Robert Woolfork Scholarship Foundation to support Florida law students and encourage innovative thinking on diversity, race, and the law.

Each year, we award scholarships to students during our annual Scholarship Luncheon. Finalists for this year’s scholarship essay contest will be invited to the 2018 Scholarship Luncheon being held on February 28, 2018, in Tallahassee, Florida, where they will be invited to make a brief presentation of their essay before the Barristers and the legal community. The winner will receive a prize scholarship in the amount of $1,500 that will be presented at the Luncheon.

Given the current political climate, how important is it to have diversity amongst members of the judiciary?
