Topics Covered
Features interactive presentations given by experienced criminal defense attorneys on important topics such as: Discovery/Procedural Rules, Pre-Trial Motions (including Motions to Suppress), Jury Selection in a Criminal Case, Elements of Misdemeanor Crimes/Making Judgment of Acquittal Arguments, Preserving the Record for Appeal, and Ethical Considerations for Criminal Defense Attorneys.
Audience
Geared for private attorneys who have limited, if any, prior criminal defense experience, as well as more experienced attorneys who would like a refresher course. Members in good standing of The Florida Bar who are also committed to handle or co-counsel at least one misdemeanor case with appropriate supervision through the EEJI are invited to attend.
Other Highlights
Breakfast and networking opportunities will be provided. An application for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) course approval – for approximately 4.5 credits, including 1.0 Ethics – is pending.
