EQUAL JUSTICE WORKS FELLOWSHIP (EJW) ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS

Legal Aid Service of Broward County and Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida are looking for passionate early career lawyers to apply for the 2021 Equal Justice Works Fellowship. We are open to candidates with inspired and creative projects. A project is a carefully designed initiative that involves effective legal advocacy on behalf of individuals, groups, or issues that are not adequately represented by some aspect of the legal system. Projects provide Fellows with the opportunity to exercise leadership within a distinct project. Individuals and organizations work together to generate project proposals.

Equal Justice Works is particularly interested in a Fellow in the following practice areas:

  • Housing
  • Public benefits
  • Consumer law
  • Community Economic Development
  • Racial Justice
  • Healthcare
  • Voting Rights
  • Racial disparity in healthcare (re: COVID-19)

How to Apply?

Applicants must submit their resume along with one page (single-spaced, 1-inch margins) project description focused in why you want to work at Legal Aid and demonstrating your overall commitment to justice for all. Email your resume and project description no later than August 17 to Nicolette Solan.

The EWJ Fellowship application deadline is September 17, 2020.

Fellowship applicants must have graduated from an Equal Justice Works Member Law School before September 2020 with a J.D. or LL.M and NOT held a full-time (more than 30 hours/week), permanent, public interest lawyer position previously.
