2020 HNBA/VIA INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW INSTITUTE (IPLI) APPLICATION

Up to thirty Latino law students from law schools across the country are chosen to participate in the HNBA/VIA Intellectual Property Law Institute (IPLI), with airfare, lodging and meals covered. Candidates are selected to participate in this immersive summer program through a highly competitive process.

To apply to participate in IPLI 2020, please fill out the online application and upload the following documents:

  • Personal statement (maximum 3 pages, double spaced)
  • Your most recent law school transcript
  • Your current resume

All online applications and materials must be submitted by midnight on Monday, March 9, 2020 to be considered.

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A rising 2L or rising 3L
  • Have a demonstrated interest in intellectual property and technology law as a potential practice area
  • Must be in good standing at an ABA accredited law school pursuing a Juris Doctor

NOTE: Anyone who has graduated from law school or will graduate before September 2020 is NOT eligible.

The selection committee will select up to 30 participants on the basis of a number of criteria, including: dedication and commitment toward accomplishing goals; an evaluation of expressed personal interest; dedication to the Latino community; and academic record. No one factor is dispositive. Students with no technical or scientific background are encouraged to apply.
