THE 6TH ANNUAL EDI LEADERSHIP SUMMIT OCTOBER 13 – 14, 2016 | FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA

Join the Electronic Discovery Institute (EDI) for its flagship educational initiative, the annual EDI Leadership Summit! Over the past five years, the Summit has become synonymous with influential scholarship due to the relevance of its sessions. EDI’s distinguished faculty are carefully selected for their dedication to the advancement of thought leadership and advocacy.

Over the past five years, the EDI Leadership Summit has become a must-attend gathering for legal technology’s most influential voices. Each year, members gather at the Leadership Summit to learn, teach and collaborate on emerging issues in law and technology – with a focus on discovery, information governance, cyber-security, litigation and big data management.

Particularly for in-house counsel, the Summit offers a relaxed, open environment in which attendees will benchmark with peers, all while perfecting an understanding of eDiscovery, technology and the practice of law. Committed to fostering long-lasting relationships, EDI enforces delegation guidelines and a strict “no-sales” policy to maintain the collaborative forum for which the Summit is known.

Unlike other events in the industry, the Summit is neither a trade show, nor a traditional CLE program. Over two days and multiple tracks of education, the Summit is a synergetic meeting, designed for and by, leading minds in legal technology.

This is an excellent opportunity for students to meet with the leading minds of eDiscovery, including the industry’s most well respected jurists, professors of law and corporate counsel. As electronic data becomes more and more of a legal challenge we are thrilled to be able to offer students the opportunity to learn about this cutting edge topic while still in school.

The second Annual Meeting, which coincides with the Leadership Summit, is being held October 10-11, 2016 at the Ritz Carlton, Fort Lauderdale and there are a limited number of Fellowships available for local law students.

For your students interested in government investigations and related civil litigation, this is an excellent opportunity to meet with high level corporate and government decision-makers, law firm management and high level consultants, as recent laws and regulations impose greater complexity and increased risk for practitioners handling investigatory and litigation matters.

Fellows are invited to attend both events free of charge, which includes all of the breakout sessions, luncheons and networking receptions. In addition, they will receive all of the written materials provided to registered guests. Fellows may also be asked to help with conference management by holding microphones, cue cards and directing attendees towards meeting places.

Because the topics of the conferences overlap, the conference dates are respectively  October 10-12 and October 13-14. At no expense to the students,  if selected as a fellow, a student may attend the  programming attached to the conferences, but will be asked to volunteer their time for various tasks prior or after the programming.

To apply to be a fellow for each/both conferences, students should send a cover letter and resume to Adam Shoshtari no later than September 30, 2016.
