WIN A FULL SCHOLARSHIP TO ATTEND THE SOVEREIGNTY SYMPOSIUM – Enter The Sovereignty Symposium XXVIII – Susan J. Ferrell Scholarship Contest

WHO? Susan J. Ferrell served as Attorney Advisor in the Oklahoma City office of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for nine years.  Much of her work concerned HUD’s Native American programs; she was actively interested in Native American history and culture.  One full (tuition, meals, and travel) scholarship to attend the Sovereignty Symposium XXVIII will be offered in her memory.  Travel, lodging and meal expenses for the Ferrell scholarship winner will be paid pursuant to the Oklahoma State Travel Reimbursement Act, subject to the limitations stated below.*

WHAT? The Supreme Court of Oklahoma and The Sovereignty Symposium, Inc. are sponsoring a full scholarship to The Sovereignty Symposium that will pay tuition, meals and travel to attend the Sovereignty Symposium.

WHEN? The Sovereignty Symposium XXVIII, which will be held June 3-4, 2015 at the Skirvin Hilton Hotel, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  The keynote speaker for 2015 will be the Baroness Nicholson of Winterbourne, member of the House of Lords.

HOW? Applicants should demonstrate an interest in and contribution to Native American legal issues by an application letter.  There is no application form.  Please include name, address, and day and evening telephone numbers in your letter.  Applicants must be students at an accredited law school in the United States, its territories, or Canada. DUE? No later than April 1, 2015.

*The student will be paid either mileage at the Oklahoma state travel reimbursement rate or round trip coach fare, not to exceed $750.00.  A maximum of three nights of lodging at the conference rate will be paid directly to the hotel. A per diem at the Oklahoma state travel reimbursement rate will be paid each day for three days.
