Breakfast with Distinguished Alumnus Joseph Bogosian – Friday, October 19th at 8:30 a.m.
As part of our 64th Annual Homecoming Celebration, Miami Law is proud to present breakfast with distinguished alumnus, Joseph Bogosian (’92), on Friday, October 19th at 8:30 a.m. in the Law Library Faculty Meeting Room. All Miami Law students are welcome to attend.
Mr. Bogosian’s career spans a wide range of private and public sector experience – with positions in the manufacturing and service industries, the US Congress and two Executive Branch agencies.
Mr. Bogosian currently serves as Senior Vice President for Certification at the Safran Group – a leading aerospace, defense and security company. Mr. Bogosian joined Safran Group in 2007 as President & CEO of Safran USA in Washington DC, before moving to corporate headquarters in Paris in 2010.
Prior to joining Safran, Mr. Bogosian was appointed by the President of the United States to serve as the US Department of Commerce Deputy Assistant Secretary responsible for manufacturing industries from 2001 to 2005. He then received a second appointment to the Federal Aviation Administration to serve as Assistant Administrator in charge of international policy and administrative services. During his government service, Mr. Bogosian was a member of the Senior Executive Service, held above Top Secret security clearance, and received the Gold Medal Award for Distinguished Achievement in the Federal Service.
He worked in the US Congress on two occasions – as Legislative Assistant for US Representative Jim Howard, Chairman of the Public Works and Transportation Committee – and as staff on the Foreign Affairs Committee for Chairman Dante Fascell. Mr. Bogosian also worked for ten years in the field of government and public affairs – including advising city, university and foreign government clients, and helping to successfully start up two businesses.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law. While at the University of Miami School of Law, Mr. Bogosian served as the SBA President.
Mr. Bogosian recently established the Student Leadership Award, which will be awarded to current SBA President Christine Job at the Annual Homecoming Breakfast on October 20, 2012.
