Lambi Fund of Haiti Seeks Deputy Director

Background on the Lambi Fund of Haiti:

Lambi Fund works in partnership with rural grassroots peasant organizations to support economic justice, democracy and sustainable development in Haiti. The Lambi Fund’s mission is to assist the popular, democratic movement in Haiti. Lambi Fund provides financial resources, training and technical assistance to peasant-led community organizations that promote the social and economic empowerment of the Haitian people.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership that aims to extend the resource and business development capacity and effectiveness of Lambi Fund of Haiti in alignment with the priorities.
  • Develop and implement a long-term strategy and work plans to identify, cultivate and solicit foundations, corporate and major donors both domestically and internationally, to increase Lambi Fund’s resource base.
  • Meet or exceed agreed-upon annual fundraising goals across different revenue streams through an annual work plan.
  • Coordinate closely with the Communications Manager and staff in Haiti team to develop and provide messaging strategies and materials to Lambi Fund stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization for funders, media, communities-at-large, and other stakeholders in a variety of meetings, presentations, and settings as required.
  • Work closely with program staff on project development to assure the timely delivery of reports, to set project launch dates, and to coordinate project site visits. The Deputy Director will work to ensure all requirements for internal and external grants are met.
  • Develop and launch an advocacy program. The Deputy Director will work with public policy individuals, government officials, likeminded organizations, Haitian diaspora and stakeholders to build partnerships and advocate for sustainable agriculture and bringing the voice of rural Haiti to the table.

Qualifications:

  • MUST fluently speak and write Haitian Kreyol and English, French is preferred
  • Prefrence for candidates living in Florida
  • Bachelor’s Degree, post-graduate education preferred
  • Six years of progressive leadership in a similar budget sized nonprofit/foundation environment, including work on major donor cultivation, foundation partnerships and corporate strategies.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to plan 12-24 months in advance and execute a diverse portfolio of resource development activities.
  • Strong interpersonal verbal communication, writing and presentation skills, with sensitivity to appropriate delivery depending on target and audience
  • Literate in Microsoft Office: word, excel and power point.
  • Strong passion for Lambi Fund’s mission and its programs.
  • Ability to work remotely with a home office based in theU.S.
  • Ability to travel 20-30% of the time domestically and internationally, particularly to Haiti.
  • Demonstrated commitment to human rights, economic justice and gender equity.
  • Summary or portfolio of grants/donations secured may be requested.
  • Writing samples may be requested.
