Diversity Job Fairs for 2012

Bay Area Diversity Career Fair:

Job fair held in San Franciscoin early August, open to rising 2L students. Registration deadline TBA.  

The Boston Lawyers Group Boston and Washington Job Fairs for Law Students of Color:

The Boston Job fair will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2012, in, Boston, MA. In addition to the job fair, the BLG will host networking receptions for selected students. Registration deadline is July 6.  

The Delaware Minority Job Fair for 2Ls and 3Ls:

This year’s Job Fair will be held in August, in Wilmington, Delaware. The Job Fair is open to all second and third-year law students seeking positions in Delawarefor the summer of 2013 and fall of 2014. The job fair is by invitation only and if you are invited, expenses are paid. Students submit an application to all attending employers and if selected by two, they are invited. Interested students must complete and return an application form, along with their resumes and college and law school transcripts to the Job Fair Administrator, deadline TBA. Heartland Legal Diversity Job Fair:

Job fair takes place in August and is open to rising 2Ls, 3Ls and class of 2012 graduates. Fair is designed to expose students to both traditional and non-traditional employers. Registration deadline TBA.

Hispanic National Bar Association Career Fair:

Job will be held in Seattle, WAon August 24, 2012. Open to rising 2Ls, 3Ls and LL.M. students. Registration deadline TBA.

IMPACT Legal Recruitment Program for Students with Disabilities:

Job fair will be held in Washington, DCAugust 3. Registration deadline TBA. Open to rising 2Ls, 3Ls, and graduates with disabilities.

Indianapolis Bar Association Diversity Job Fair:

Job fair takes place July 26-27 and is open to 2L students graduating in 2013 who represent all aspects of diversity and are looking for a one of a kind legal community in a Midwestern city. Last year more than 20 employers participated. There is no fee for students to register for the fair. Three $2500 scholarships will be awarded to participating students. Registration opens April 1 and runs through June 18, 2012. For more information please contact Diane Quick in the Career Development Office.

Lavender Law Career Fair:

Job fair is open to rising 2L and 3L lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students and in 2012 will be held in Washington, DC on August 23. Online registration deadline is August 10 (early registration) but participants can register at the door (registration fees are higher).

Louisiana State Bar Association Minority Involvement Section’s Annual Job Fair:

Open to all students (spring) and 2Ls and 3Ls (fall). Spring program is virtual and specifically targets students outside the top 1/3 of the class. Spring registration deadline is March 30.

Minnesota Minority Recruitment Conference:

Held in Minneapolis, MN, open to rising 2Ls and 3Ls interested in interviewing with the largest legal employers in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Registration deadline TBA.

National Bar Association Annual Job Fair:

Job fair is held each year in conjunction with the organization’s annual conference. This year the job fair will be held in July is Las Vegas. Open to all students, recent graduates and seasoned attorneys. Registration deadline TBA.

National Black Law Students Association Southern Regional Job Fair:

Regional job fair is held annually and is open to rising 2Ls and 3Ls. Registration deadline TBA.

National Black Prosecutors Association Annual Job Fair:

Job fair will be held on Tuesday, July 31 in New Orleans, LA.There is a nominal registration fee required for participation. Registration is available online with a credit card. Registration deadline TBA.

Northwest Minority Job Fair:

This event will be held on Saturday, August 25th, 2012 from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, in Seattle. Job Fair participants are also encouraged to attend the Fair luncheon held at 12:00 pm, featuring a local guest speaker. Applications deadline TBA. Please see website for more information.  

Rocky Mountain Diversity Career Fair:

Career fair aims to assist employers in fulfilling their commitments to diversity and expand opportunities for law students and law graduates traditionally under-represented in the practice of law in the Rocky Mountainregion including law students and graduates who are ethnic or racial minorities, disabled, and/or gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender. Job fair takes place at Invesco Field in Denver, Colorado, Friday, September 14, 2012. Interested applicants can begin applying April 1 (deadline TBA). 

The Southeastern Minority Job Fair (SEMJF):

All applicants must pre-register through the Miami Law CDO – watch your email for more information. Please complete the Job Fair Pre-Registration Form attached to this email to be included in this job fair. There is no fee for students to register for this fair. The fair will be held on Friday, July 27 & Saturday, July 28, 2012, at the Hyatt Regency Suites Atlanta Northwest in Marietta, Georgia. A complete time line and other information may be found online. 

Tri-State Diversity Recruitment Program:

Open to rising 2Ls and 3Ls interested in interviewing with law firms and corporations in the Kentucky, Ohioand Indianan region. Registration deadline TBA. 

Vault/MCCA Legal Diversity Career Fair:

Fair is open to 2L, 3L and lateral candidates. Both Washington D.C. & Los Angeles fairs will take place in July. Registration for each fair is separate. Apply online.  No registration deadline is indicated, application deadline TBA if interested.

Virginia Bar Association Diversity Job Fair:

The VBA annual Diversity Job Fair will take place in August and is open to rising 2L and 3L law students of diverse backgrounds (including race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability or age) who are interested in practicing in Virginia. There is no cost to students for participation in the fair. More information and registration online. Student registration dates TBA.
