{"id":9252,"date":"2021-02-17T13:06:40","date_gmt":"2021-02-17T16:06:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cdo.law.miami.edu\/?p=9252"},"modified":"2021-02-17T13:06:40","modified_gmt":"2021-02-17T16:06:40","slug":"labor-employment-law-scholarship-for-students-interested-in-labor-employment-law","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cdo.law.miami.edu\/?p=9252","title":{"rendered":"Labor &#038; Employment Law Scholarship &#8211; For Students Interested in Labor &#038; Employment Law"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Who is awarding this scholarship?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Labor and Employment Section of the Florida Bar<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Who can apply for this scholarship?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Current 2Ls and 3Ls<\/li>\n<li>Enrolled in a Juris Doctor degree-seeking program at a Florida Law School (students visiting from an out-of-state school are <em>not <\/em>eligible)<\/li>\n<li>With a demonstrated interest in Labor &amp; Employment Law<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What is being awarded?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$1000 to one student <em>or <\/em>$500 split between two equal candidates<\/li>\n<li>The scholarship check is accompanied by a recognition plaque from the Section<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What must I do to be considered for the scholarship?<\/p>\n<p>Prepare a cover page that includes<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your contact information, school, and year (2L or 3L)<\/li>\n<li>Completed &amp; anticipated labor and employment related course work (identifying when courses were taken or will be taken)<\/li>\n<li>Relevant professional experience (this can include job\/intern placements for the summer of 2021)<\/li>\n<li>Your involvement in school organizations (including Law Reviews and Journals) <em>and <\/em>any pro bono\/volunteer activity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>In lieu of the above you may submit a resume or CV, which is supplemented with your relevant course work<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A 250-500 word statement expressing your interest in Labor &amp; Employment Law<\/li>\n<li>Your name should be on each page of your submission<\/li>\n<li>Your school name MUST be in the subject line of the <a href=\"mailto:CScott@scottwagnerlaw.com\">email<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When is the application deadline?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>March 1, 2021<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When will I be notified?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>April 2021 &#8211; Candidates will be selected by the Law School Liaison Committee of the Labor &amp; Employment Section of the Florida Bar and are subject to the approval of each candidate\u2019s Law School<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Who is awarding this scholarship?
