{"id":9123,"date":"2020-10-01T09:55:27","date_gmt":"2020-10-01T12:55:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cdo.law.miami.edu\/?p=9123"},"modified":"2020-10-01T09:55:27","modified_gmt":"2020-10-01T12:55:27","slug":"gateway-into-the-federal-government-presidential-management-fellowship-pmf-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cdo.law.miami.edu\/?p=9123","title":{"rendered":"Gateway Into the Federal Government &#8211; Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF) Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: 'Georgia',serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: 'Georgia',serif;\">The Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF)\u00a0Program is a flagship leadership development program at the entry level for advanced degree candidates.\u00a0 The Program attracts and selects the best candidates possible- but is really designed with a more narrow focus &#8211; developing a cadre of potential government leaders.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: 'Georgia',serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: 'Georgia',serif;\">This rigorous, two-year paid fellowship includes challenging assignments, developmental assignments, and networking opportunities.\u00a0Finalists are eligible for appointment as a Fellow with a participating Federal agency and will have the opportunity to engage in solving domestic and\/or international issues in areas such as public administration, engineering, technology, science, criminal justice, health, privacy, cybersecurity, and financial management, to name a few.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: 'Georgia',serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: 'Georgia',serif;\">Note that although the PMF program seeks candidates from law schools and JDs are a valued degree within the PMF program, PMF Finalists are not hired into attorney positions. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: 'Georgia',serif;\">The Presidential Management Fellowship Program application is now open and <b><i>will remain open through October 14, 2020.<\/i><\/b> You will find the announcement on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usajobs.gov\">USAJOBS<\/a> by searching for &#8220;Presidential Management Fellows.&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: 'Georgia',serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: 'Georgia',serif;\">During the application process, you must take an on-line assessment and submit a resume and transcript; additional information about resumes and transcripts can be found\u00a0in the Applicant Handbook.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: 'Georgia',serif;\">Within a few weeks after the application closes,\u00a0applications will be reviewed and the top qualifying applicants will be selected as Finalists.
