The Center for Alcohol Policy is now accepting entries for its\u00a010th<\/sup>\u00a0Annual National Essay Contest<\/span><\/a>. The Center\u2019s national essay contest is intended to foster debate, analysis and examination of state alcohol regulation. The topic for this year\u2019s contest is: The Supreme Court has recognized \u201ctemperance\u201d as a permissible goal of state alcohol regulation. Define temperance as it would apply in today\u2019s alcohol marketplace. Is it still relevant today? Should temperance still be recognized as a permissible goal of alcohol regulation?<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

WHO CAN ENTER:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>The contest is open to all persons who are over the age of 18 as of December 2017. Students, academics, practicing attorneys, policymakers and members of the general public are encouraged to submit essays.<\/span><\/p>\n

AWARDS:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Cash prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners in the amounts of $5,000, $2,500 and $1,000 respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n
