AAJ&#8217;s Annual Convention is a great opportunity for the scholarship recipient\u00a0to network with top trial lawyers from around the country, attend CLE programs, and meet members of AAJ&#8217;s\u00a0New Lawyer DIvision (NLD). This scholarship is available to first- and second-year AAJ Law Student Members.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2017 Cycle<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The deadline for the 2017\u00a0AAJ Leesfield Scholarship has passed. The next scholarship cycle will open in February, 2018.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Deadline is June 1, 2018.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Applications must include the following:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A\u00a0resum\u00e9<\/li>\n<li>A statement of financial need<\/li>\n<li>A 500-word written request substantiating the applicant&#8217;s commitment to preserving the civil justice system.<\/li>\n<li>Up to three (3) recommendations from a faculty adviser, trial advocacy professor, dean,\u00a0AAJ\u00a0member, or trial lawyer; and<\/li>\n<li>A completed form verifying your student status. \u200b<a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.org\/sites\/default\/files\/Leesfield%20Verification%20Form17.pdf\">Download\u00a0the form<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Every applicant must be an AAJ law student member (join\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.org\/membership\/join-american-association-justice\">here<\/a>) and enrolled in an ABA accredited law school.
