UM law students are invited to the sixth annual Speed Mentoring Event, which will be held on\u00a0Tuesday, October 27, 2015 <\/strong>at Shook, Hardy & Bacon\u2019s Miami office located at 201 S. Biscayne Boulevard, Suite 3200, Miami, FL 33130, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event provides a fun-filled, low-pressure environment for law students to connect with highly respected lawyers and judges who practice throughout South Florida.<\/p>\n Modeled after \u201cspeed dating,\u201d the Speed Mentoring Event gives law students the opportunity to meet with judges and attorneys in five-minute intervals to seek advice or simply get to know that practitioner.\u00a0 The Mentoring Committee will subsequently pair students with mentors based on preferences expressed by the participants and the similarities between a student\u2019s interests and the mentor\u2019s practice area(s). Members from the judiciary and lawyers from within the public and private sectors have participated in large numbers in past years.
