{"id":7346,"date":"2015-08-20T11:21:23","date_gmt":"2015-08-20T14:21:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cdo.law.miami.edu\/?p=7346"},"modified":"2015-08-20T11:21:24","modified_gmt":"2015-08-20T14:21:24","slug":"pacific-legal-foundation-law-student-writing-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cdo.law.miami.edu\/?p=7346","title":{"rendered":"Pacific Legal Foundation Law Student Writing Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Eligibility Rules:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Submissions must be original works of publishable quality written by a student currently enrolled full- or part-time in a law school in the United States.\u00a0 All submissions must comply with the Harvard Law Review Association\u2019s <em>Bluebook Uniform System of Citation <\/em>(19th ed.).\u00a0 There is no page limit for entries, although, as an informal guide, a word count of between 8,000 to 14,000 words is suggested.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Deadline\/Method of Submission:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Articles must be received by 5:00 p.m. (PST) on <strong>January 15, 2016<\/strong>.\u00a0 Articles must be submitted, by email, in both Microsoft Word and PDF formats in Times New Roman 12-point font, double-spaced.\u00a0 Citations should be included in footnotes.\u00a0 Articles may include headings and subheadings.\u00a0 Please <a title=\"link\" href=\"mailto:PJA@pacificlegal.org\" target=\"_blank\">email<\/a> all articles.\u00a0 You will be notified via email when your submission is received.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Award:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The first place winner will receive a $3,000 cash prize.\u00a0 The second place winner will receive a $2,000 cash prize and the third place winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize. The Program for Judicial Awareness will work with the first place winner to find a law journal to publish the winning article.
