Alexander Writing Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 10pt;\">Requirements are as follows:\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 10pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 3.4pt;\"><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 10pt;\">Full and part-time J.D. and LL.M. students are eligible. <\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 3.4pt;\"><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 10pt;\">Any original paper concerning federal taxation between 20-50 double spaced pages is welcome. <\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 10pt;\">Seminar papers and articles submitted (but not yet selected for publication) to law reviews, journals, or other competitions are eligible.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 10pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 10pt;\">Winning authors receive $2000 (first place) or $1000 (second place) and a trip to the FBA\u2019s Annual Tax Law Conference in Washington, D.C. The winning entries may be published in the Tax Section newsletter the <i>Report <\/i>or in <i>The Federal Lawyer<\/i>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\">Papers will be evaluated based on the following criteria: (1) depth of research; (2) originality of thought; (3) quality, clarity, and efficiency of presentation; and (4) relevance to current tax policy or events.
