The University of Connecticut School of Law located in Hartford<\/span>, <\/span>CT<\/span> invites applicants for an opening as Director of the <\/span>Career<\/span>Planning<\/span>Center<\/span>.\u00a0 The Director of the <\/span>Career<\/span>Planning<\/span>Center<\/span> plans, organizes, and administers a program of job placement and career counseling for law students and alumni\/ae, under the general direction of the Assistant Dean of Students. \u00a0Characteristic duties include: plans, implements, and evaluates recruiting strategies; designs, administers, and conducts placement technique workshops; works with student groups to identify specific needs of particular segments of student population; supervises department employees.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Minimum Qualifications: <\/span><\/strong>J.D. or Master’s degree or in appropriate field; experience counseling and\/or direct supervision of students or law associates in an educational or law practicing setting; knowledge of legal hiring community and job search skills; demonstrated supervisory and administrative capacity; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; willingness to work irregular and flexible hours.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Preferred Qualifications:<\/span><\/strong> Familiarity with the legal employment market of Connecticut and major legal employment centers; two to four years’ experience in administration and counseling in an educational or other relevant setting; demonstrated ability to effectively engender trust and build positive relationships with students and employers; ability to project a favorable image of Law School programs and students.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This is a full-time, permanent position.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
