{"id":6166,"date":"2014-01-02T16:26:40","date_gmt":"2014-01-02T19:26:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cdo.law.miami.edu\/?p=6166"},"modified":"2014-01-02T16:26:40","modified_gmt":"2014-01-02T19:26:40","slug":"consider-hope-fellowships-for-funding-your-job-in-the-public-interest-deadline-is-february-14-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cdo.law.miami.edu\/?p=6166","title":{"rendered":"Consider HOPE Fellowships for Funding Your Job In the Public Interest &#8211; Deadline is February 14, 2014!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While you are on break and considering your summer options, take note of these two exceptional opportunities for funding your dream job in the public interest!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">HOPE Fellows<\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All 1Ls and 2Ls who are in good academic standing are eligible to apply.<\/li>\n<li>Fellows must complete a minimum of 360 hours of work over a period of no less than 9 weeks.<\/li>\n<li>Fellows have an ongoing reporting and feedback commitment throughout the duration of their placement consisting of weekly journals and weekly article reviews followed by group discussions.<\/li>\n<li>Each Fellow receives a $5,000 stipend for otherwise uncompensated work at a public interest agency.<\/li>\n<li>Fellows do not receive school credit for the work. They may not be enrolled in courses concurrently.<\/li>\n<li>Placements are at the local, national, and international levels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/www.law.miami.edu\/hope\/hope-fellows.php?op=3\" href=\"http:\/\/www.law.miami.edu\/hope\/hope-fellows.php?op=3\">Summer Public Interest Fellowship Program<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All 1Ls who are in good academic standing are eligible to apply.<\/li>\n<li>Fellows must complete a minimum of 35 hours per week over the course of 8 weeks.<\/li>\n<li>This highly competitive program includes a public interest law seminar and a legal research and writing project for which Fellows receive a stipend and academic credits.<\/li>\n<li>Fellows may choose among the following local Miami public interest agencies: Americans for Immigrant Justice; Catholic Charities; Legal Aid Services of Broward County; Legal Aid Society of the Dade County Bar Association; Legal Services of Greater Miami; and the Public Defender\u2019s Office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><i>Deadline for applications is February 14<sup>th<\/sup>, 2014.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Questions?
