to protecting our nation?\u00a0 The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is looking to hire a handful of students from the nation\u2019s best graduate programs.\u00a0 Those selected to join the department will have a unique opportunity to put their academic achievements, intellect and professional experience to use during a critical time in American history.\u00a0 As honors fellows, you will provide direct assistance to top policymakers throughout the department.\u00a0 Fellows will work side-by-side with professionals with expertise in areas such as:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>* Policy Investment\/Trade\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>* Intelligence and Analysis\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>DHS seeks applicants who\u00a0are U.S. citizens,\u00a0have keen analytical skills, a demonstrated ability to write well, and the judgment and discretion needed to operate in a vibrant, highly visible, and challenging environment.\u00a0 Those exceptional candidates who are selected as honors fellows will serve for two years.\u00a0 Upon completing the fellowship, you will have the opportunity to convert to a permanent position at DHS.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>How do I apply?\u00a0 Interested applicants should submit a cover letter and resume\u00a0via email\u00a0to\u00a0Davian Darby in the Career Development Office at <a title=\"mailto:ddarby@law.miami.edu\" href=\"mailto:ddarby@law.miami.edu\">ddarby@law.miami.edu<\/a>\u00a0by <strong>5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4th<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>DHS will work with your career services office to schedule\u00a0interviews.\u00a0 The <strong>informational\u00a0session will be held at 10 AM on Monday, November 9th at the Toppel Career Center Library<\/strong>.\u00a0 You will be required to go through multiple rounds of interviews with departmental officials on your college campus and at DHS headquarters.\u00a0 If selected, DHS will present you with an offer letter to join the department.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Some key requirements that must be met
