Wednesday, March 20th<\/sup>, 12:30-1:50 p.m., Room F-309, Mitigation, Mental Health & Minors.<\/span><\/b> <\/b>Please join the HOPE Office and HOPE Fellows Nicole Devinette, Beth Gordon and Shanelle Johnson as they discuss their summer placements and give a presentation about common issues that arise in representing criminal defendants with special needs. Wednesday, March 27th<\/sup>, Pro Bono Clinic for Nonprofits<\/span>, 5:30 \u2013 8:30 p.m., CDO<\/b>: Miami area transactional attorneys are coming together to provide free legal consultations to South Florida nonprofit organizations. Legal issues may touch upon contract, employment, corporate, intellectual property and real estate law. Students have the opportunity to shadow participating attorneys during the consultations. The reception and information session will commence on the Bricks at 5:30 p.m., with appointments starting at 6:30 p.m. Spots are limited. Wednesday, April 4th<\/sup>, Bridging the Gap: UM Public Interest Opportunities Abroad<\/span><\/b>, 12:30-1:50p.m., Room A-110.\u00a0<\/b>Speakers Rachel Oostendorp & Grant Lyons, Class of 2013, along with current HOPE Fellows, will inform students about the diverse internship opportunities available in the areas of international law, specifically the type of legal advocacy and policy work that can be funded through a HOPE Fellowship. Wednesday, April 10th<\/sup>, HOPE Fellows: The Future of Marriage Equality<\/span>, 12:30-1:50 p.m., Room F-309.<\/b> Please join current HOPE Fellows in an event conducted by constitutional law scholar Caroline Mala Corbin, who will be lecturing about the two upcoming marriage equality cases before the Supreme Court. The future of marriage equality, in regards to the constitutional changes to DOMS and Prop 8 will be discussed. Please contact HOPE for more information and to RSVP!<\/p>\n

PILnet: The Global Network for Public Interest Law<\/a><\/b> is pleased to invite applicants to the PILnet Fellowship for 2013-2014<\/a>. PILnet will select lawyers for eight months of study and practical experience in New York City. The program, now in its sixteenth year, targets future leaders in various fields of public interest advocacy. The James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona<\/b> in Tucson, Arizona, is hiring a Fellow for its Bacon Immigration Law and Policy Program to begin in August 2013. The position is open to recent law graduates with up to three years of practice experience. 3Ls with relevant experience and qualifications will also be considered. The position is for one year, with the possibility of a\u00a0second year renewal.\u00a0Please contact HOPE for more information.<\/p>\n

The U.D.C. David A. Clarke School of Law <\/b>is pleased to announce fellowship opportunities in its Juvenile & Special Education Law Clinic for At-Risk Youth and its Housing and Consumer Law Clinic. These two-year LL.M. programs will include coursework in public interest law, clinical pedagogy and systems change. The George Washington University Law School <\/b>is now accepting applications for its Jacob Burns Community Legal Clinics’ graduate clinical fellowships for the academic years of 2013-15. Institute for Justice & Democracy in Haiti <\/b>is accepting applications for a Legal Intern<\/a> (Summer 2013) and a Legal Fellow<\/a> (2013-2014) to work on legal and public advocacy seeking UN accountability for Haiti\u2019s cholera epidemic. Inspired Leaders<\/b> is a charitable organization serving high school students from underrepresented communities to develop higher education aspirations while teaching them about the law in an intensive summer law program. The Florida Justice Institute (FJI)<\/b>, a nonprofit, public interest litigation firm, is seeking a law student to intern for the summer months. FJI conducts civil rights litigation primarily on behalf of those incarcerated in Florida\u2019s prisons and jails.
