(2) Public Interest Summer Fellowships; and (3) the African Probate &amp; Policy Initiative.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/law.miami.edu\/hope\/hope-fellows.php?op=3\" href=\"http:\/\/law.miami.edu\/hope\/hope-fellows.php?op=3\">HOPE Summer Fellowships<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All 1Ls and 2Ls who are in good academic standing are\u00a0eligible to apply.<\/li>\n<li>Fellows must complete a minimum of 360 hours of work\u00a0over a period of no less than 9 weeks.<\/li>\n<li>Fellows have an ongoing reporting and feedback\u00a0commitment throughout the duration of their placement consisting of weekly\u00a0journals and weekly article reviews followed by group discussions.<\/li>\n<li>Each Fellow receives a $5,000 stipend for otherwise\u00a0uncompensated work at a public interest agency.<\/li>\n<li>Fellows do not receive school credit for the work.<\/li>\n<li>Placements are at the local, national, and\u00a0international levels, and some students may be eligible for travel\u00a0assistance based on location and need.<\/li>\n<li>To apply or for more information visit the <a title=\"http:\/\/law.miami.edu\/hope\/hope-fellows.php?op=3\" href=\"http:\/\/law.miami.edu\/hope\/hope-fellows.php?op=3\">HOPE Fellows webpage<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/www.law.miami.edu\/hope\/summer-public-interest-fellowship-program.php\" href=\"http:\/\/www.law.miami.edu\/hope\/summer-public-interest-fellowship-program.php\">HOPE Summer Public Interest Fellowships<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All 1Ls who are in good academic standing are\u00a0eligible to apply.<\/li>\n<li>Fellows must complete a minimum of 35 hours per week\u00a0over the course of 8 weeks.<\/li>\n<li>This highly competitive program includes a public\u00a0\u00a0interest law seminar and a legal research and writing project for which Fellows receive a $2,500 stipend and 3 academic credits.<\/li>\n<li>Fellows may choose among the following local Miami public\u00a0interest agencies: Americans for Immigrant Justice; Policy Initiative<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All 1Ls and 2Ls who are in good academic standing are\u00a0eligible to apply.<\/li>\n<li>The Initiative provides students with an intensive\u00a0summer experience of human rights coursework and experiential learning\u00a0opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>The Initiative is a 4- or 6-credit program\u00a0apportioned as follows: 2-credit workshop pre-departure class with a\u00a0Pass\/Fail exam; 2-credit seminar to fulfill the writing requirement; and\u00a0an optional 2-credit externship.<\/li>\n<li>Students are responsible for securing their own\u00a0flights, and must pay for all related travel expenses.<\/li>\n<li>Students who participate in the African Probate &amp;\u00a0Policy Initiative are not eligible for a HOPE Summer Fellowship or for a Public Interest Summer Fellowship.<\/li>\n<li>To apply or for more information visit the <a title=\"http:\/\/law.miami.edu\/hope\/tanzania.php?op=1\" href=\"http:\/\/law.miami.edu\/hope\/tanzania.php?op=1\">African Probate &amp;
