{"id":4832,"date":"2013-01-07T19:27:08","date_gmt":"2013-01-07T22:27:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cdo.law.miami.edu\/?p=4832"},"modified":"2013-01-07T19:27:08","modified_gmt":"2013-01-07T22:27:08","slug":"the-aba-section-of-antitrust-law-student-writing-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cdo.law.miami.edu\/?p=4832","title":{"rendered":"The ABA Section of Antitrust Law Student Writing Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Winners of the Section of Antitrust Law Student Writing Competition get <strong>$2,000 and a trip to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.americanbar.org\/content\/aba\/groups\/antitrust_law\/events_cle\/at_annual.html\">Spring Meeting<\/a> <\/strong>&#8211; airfare, accomodations, and registration paid.<\/p>\n<p>The Law Student Writing Competition encourages and rewards student-written articles in the area of antitrust law, competition policy, and consumer protection law.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>How to Enter<\/strong><\/span>:<\/p>\n<div>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Write an article about antitrust. <\/strong>Law students currently enrolled or graduating can write eligible articles of general interest to the antitrust law community, including: <strong>Civil and Criminal Antitrust Law<\/strong>, <strong>Competition Policy<\/strong>, <strong>Consumer Protection<\/strong>, and <strong>International Competition Law<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Have it published. <\/strong>Articles published in ABA-accredited schools\u2019 law reviews or journals <strong>between January 1, 2012 and March 1, 2013 <\/strong>qualify.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Get nominated. <\/strong>Each publication\u2019s Editor-in-Chief may nominate one article for the award. E-mail the article and a completed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.americanbar.org\/content\/dam\/aba\/administrative\/antitrust_law\/writing_comp_entry_form.doc\">entry form<\/a> <strong>by February 1, 2013 <a title=\"link\" href=\"mailto:Deborah.Morgan@americanbar.org\" target=\"_blank\">via email<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">More Details<\/span><\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>The winner, announced March 2013, will receive a check for $2,000 and an invitation to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.americanbar.org\/content\/aba\/groups\/antitrust_law\/events_cle\/at_annual.html\">Antitrust Section\u2019s Spring Meeting<\/a> (April 10-12, 2013) in Washington, D.C. Airfare (if living outside D.C. area), accommodations, and registration will be paid by the ABA.<\/p>\n<p>Eligible papers include published notes, comments and articles and should generally be 20-30 pages in length, with footnotes.<\/p>\n<p>Joint papers and unpublished work, including work that was prepared for a class, seminar or independent study are <em>not <\/em>eligible.
