This position will be based inWashington, DC. Established in 1991 by a group of prominent Latin American human rights defenders, CEJIL is a regional organization that works to promote human rights throughout the Hemisphere through the effective use of the Inter-American System. For more information about the organization, please visit the <a title=\"link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cejil.org\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">RESPONSIBILITIES<\/span>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the litigation of cases primarily from the Andean Region and North Americabefore the Inter-American Commission and Court;<\/li>\n<li>Maintain relationships with local NGOs, government representatives, and international organizations in Latin America;<\/li>\n<li>Design and support training sessions, workshops, and materials about the Inter-American System or international human rights law;<\/li>\n<li>Participate in and support activities designed to strengthen the Inter-American System, such as writing position papers, participating in advocacy initiatives, etc.;<\/li>\n<li>Complete institutional responsibilities, such as writing Trip Reports and Work Plans, among others;<\/li>\n<li>Assist with general administrative tasks;<\/li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">QUALIFICATIONS<\/span>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrate an interest in international human rights law;<\/li>\n<li>Law Degree (Masters preferred but not required);<\/li>\n<li>Three years of work experience, preferably at the international level;<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop convincing legal arguments;<\/li>\n<li>Mastery of English language, with outstanding English writing skills;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to write, edit, and communicate fluently in Spanish;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work on own initiative and work with others as part of a team;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work under pressure and on various projects at once;<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to travel and work in a multicultural environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
