{"id":353,"date":"2009-08-25T11:51:25","date_gmt":"2009-08-25T14:51:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cdo.law.miami.edu\/?p=353"},"modified":"2010-08-13T14:45:31","modified_gmt":"2010-08-13T17:45:31","slug":"fall-2009-judicial-internship-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cdo.law.miami.edu\/?p=353","title":{"rendered":"Fall 2009 Judicial Internship Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Judicial Intern Program of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jud11.flcourts.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court<\/a> (Miami, FL) places second and third year University of Miami School of Law students in a direct working relationship with county and circuit judges in the Civil, Criminal, Juvenile, Family and Domestic Violence Divisions.<\/p>\n<p>The schedule by which the law student will intern will be a matter to be determined between the student and judge.\u00a0 However, a minimum of 5-10 hours per week is required.\u00a0 Interns are not permitted to work with any law firm or other legal agency while participating in this program.\u00a0 The Career Development Office is responsible for matching students and judges.\u00a0 To every extent possible, the assignment will be based on students\u2019 expressed areas of interest.<\/p>\n<p>To participate in the program, students must submit an application, resume and short writing sample.\u00a0 Applications are available in the CDO (Room A-112) or from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.miami.edu\/cdo\/cpc_01_02.php?op=1\" target=\"_blank\">your CDO advisor<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 Also, students must attend a mandatory orientation, during which time you learn of the judge you matched with.<\/p>\n<p>The timeline for the Fall Judicial Internship Program is as follows:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Friday, September 4, 2009, 5:00 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Internship Orientation:\u00a0\u00a0 Wednesday, September 9, 2009, 5:30 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Internship Begins:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Monday, September 14, 2009<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Internship Ends:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Friday, November 20, 2009<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Judicial Intern Program of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court (Miami, FL) places second and third year University of Miami School of Law students in a direct working relationship with county and circuit judges in the Civil, Criminal, Juvenile, Family and Domestic Violence Divisions.
