{"id":2643,"date":"2011-12-05T10:34:32","date_gmt":"2011-12-05T13:34:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cdo.law.miami.edu\/?p=2643"},"modified":"2011-12-05T10:34:32","modified_gmt":"2011-12-05T13:34:32","slug":"fulbright-public-policy-fellowships-deadline-february-1-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cdo.law.miami.edu\/?p=2643","title":{"rendered":"Fulbright Public Policy Fellowships &#8212; Deadline: February 1, 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Fulbright Public Policy Fellowship, a component of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/fulbright.state.gov\/grants\/student-program\/u-s-citizen.html\">Fulbright\u00a0U.S. Student Program<\/a>, will be inaugurated in academic year 2012-13.\u00a0 The Fulbright Public Policy Fellowship will allow fellows to serve in professional placements in foreign government ministries or institutions and gain hands-on public sector experience in participating foreign countries while simultaneously carrying out an academic research\/study project.<\/p>\n<p>Fulbright Public Policy Fellowships will be offered in the following countries:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/fulbright.state.gov\/participating-countries\/south-and-central-asia\/bangladesh.html\">Bangladesh<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/fulbright.state.gov\/participating-countries\/africa\/cote-divoire.html\">Cote d&#8217;Ivoire<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/fulbright.state.gov\/participating-countries\/western-hemisphere\/dominican-republic.html\">Dominican Republic<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/fulbright.state.gov\/participating-countries\/western-hemisphere\/guatemala.html\">Guatemala<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/fulbright.state.gov\/participating-countries\/western-hemisphere\/haiti.html\">Haiti<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/fulbright.state.gov\/participating-countries\/western-hemisphere\/jamaica.html\">Jamaica<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/fulbright.state.gov\/participating-countries\/east-asia-and-the-pacific\/mongolia.html\">Mongolia<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/fulbright.state.gov\/participating-countries\/south-and-central-asia\/nepal.html\">Nepal<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/fulbright.state.gov\/participating-countries\/africa\/nigeria.html\">Nigeria<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/fulbright.state.gov\/participating-countries\/east-asia-and-the-pacific\/thailand.html\">Thailand<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/fulbright.state.gov\/participating-countries\/middle-east-and-north-africa\/tunisia.html\">Tunisia<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>U.S. Embassies,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/fulbright.state.gov\/participating-countries\/fulbright-commissions\">Fulbright Commissions<\/a>\u00a0(where applicable), and host country governments will coordinate appropriate professional placements for candidates in public policy areas including, but not limited to, public health, education, agriculture, justice, energy, environment, public finance, economic development, information technology, and communications.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Candidates must be in receipt of a master&#8217;s or J.D. degree by the beginning of the Fellowship (Summer &#8211; Fall 2012) or be currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program.\u00a0 Applicants must also have at least two years of work experience in public policy-related fields.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Application for the Fulbright Public Policy Fellowship opens on November 4, 2011.\u00a0 Applicants must complete and submit the Fulbright U.S. Student Application including the supplemental Fulbright Public Policy Fellowship section by February 1, 2012<\/strong>.\u00a0<strong>Departure for assignments will begin in Summer &#8211; Fall 2012.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0To access the application\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/us.fulbrightonline.org\/applynow.html\" target=\"_blank\">click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For more information or to apply, visit the <a title=\"link\" href=\"http:\/\/fulbright.state.gov\/grants\/fulbright-public-policy-fellowship\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Fulbright Public Policy Fellowship, a component of the\u00a0Fulbright\u00a0U.S. Student Program, will be inaugurated in academic year 2012-13.\u00a0 The Fulbright Public Policy Fellowship will allow fellows to serve in professional placements in foreign government ministries or institutions and gain hands-on public sector experience in participating foreign countries while simultaneously carrying out an academic research\/study project.
