{"id":1465,"date":"2010-12-01T12:06:26","date_gmt":"2010-12-01T15:06:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cdo.law.miami.edu\/?p=1465"},"modified":"2010-12-01T12:07:32","modified_gmt":"2010-12-01T15:07:32","slug":"university-of-connecticut-school-of-law-student-legal-writing-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cdo.law.miami.edu\/?p=1465","title":{"rendered":"University of Connecticut School of Law Student Legal Writing Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Connecticut School of Law Student Legal Writing Competition seeks to encourage and reward original writing on legal issues facing persons affected by homelessness, mental illness, addiction or substance abuse.\u00a0 Last year&#8217;s winning entry was entitled &#8220;The Free Exercise Clause:\u00a0 Implications for the Mentally Ill.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Competition is open to any student currently enrolled in an American or Canadian law school.\u00a0 The deadline for submission is June 1, 2011.\u00a0 Prizes include $750 for the first-place winner, $500 for the second-place winner and $250 for the third-place winner. Winners will be notified by July 15, 2011.<\/p>\n<p>The Competition rules and an intent to enter form are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.uconn.edu\/node\/9541\" target=\"_blank\">available online<\/a>.
