Through this partnership, the HNBA will select a graduate to join Prudential\u2019s law department as the HNBA-Prudential Law Fellow. <strong>The Fellow will work full time for 18 months in Prudential\u2019s Newark, New Jersey office beginning on December 1, 2010. <\/strong>During this time, the Fellow may work in up to three Law Department divisions, which may include the Insurance, Investments, Litigation\/Regulatory, Corporate Governance, Mergers &amp; Acquisitions, Employment, Labor, Employee Benefits and International divisions. The Fellow will be expected to seek employment outside of Prudential\u2019s law department after the end of the fellowship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SALARY:<\/strong> Annual salary of $60,000 with benefits.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: <\/strong>Executing legal transactions; securing, preparing, drafting and processing legal documents; conducting legal research; providing litigation support; and assisting attorneys in providing legal advice to internal clients on a daily basis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS: <\/strong>1.<strong> <\/strong>Member of HNBA<\/p>\n<p>2. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Received a J.D. or LL.M. from an ABA-accredited law school in 2010<\/p>\n<p>3. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Admission to a state bar (alternatively, bar admission pending results from a bar exam is acceptable; however, such status might result in a conditional or delayed offer based upon bar admission results)<\/p>\n<p>4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Minimum law school GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)<\/p>\n<p>5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Financial or business-related experience or interest<\/p>\n<p>6.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Excellent verbal and writing abilities<\/p>\n<p>7.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Strong conceptual thinking and analytical skills<\/p>\n<p>8.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels<\/p>\n<p>9.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ability to work and think independently<\/p>\n<p>10.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Forward thinking ability with a risk management perspective<\/p>\n<p>11.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Strong ethics<\/p>\n<p>12.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ability to multitask<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>APPLICATION PROCESS:<\/strong> Applicants must submit a cover letter, resume, list of three references, two writing samples and copy of law school transcript <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">by e-mail <strong>AND<\/strong> U.S. Mail<\/span> to:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:ztapia@hnba.com\" target=\"_blank\">Zuraya Tapia<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Executive Director<\/p>\n<p>Hispanic National Bar Association<\/p>\n<p>Ben Franklin Station<\/p>\n<p>P.O.
