- Speaker Joan Valdes: “Balancing Life and Law” – 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., Faculty Meeting Room, Law Library. Attorney Joan Valdes will be on campus to speak about work/life balance. Ms. Valdes will share her story and provide advice on how to balance life and the practice of law. Ms. Valdes is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Law and the Owner and President of the Law Office of Joan I. Valdes in Coral Gables. Ms. Valdes specializes in Workers’ Compensation Law in South Florida and has been practicing as a litigator and consultant in all areas of Workers’ Compensation Law for the past several years. She is also a circuit civil mediator and consultant for large loss cases. Light refreshments will be served. RSVP to Brenda Louard in the CDO.
